What an incredible journey it has been! Nearly 1,000 horse and rider teams from all over the U.S. participated in a journey that has now brought one hundred finalists down to ten! America’s Favorite Trail Horse will soon be crowned! No matter what breed of horse, each horse and rider team showed their own special bond. “The dressage horse makes a wonderful trail horse. She’s an awesome horse. I’ve had a great time on her. I’m really glad I branched out of the arena and tried something new” states Marjorie Chema about her horse, Emmy Lee. Many friendships and memories were made along the way that will last forever. It has been an incredible experience that will remain with all contestants forever. Top Ten Finalist Julie Moore was so excited to be a part of the Finals, “What a ride! Competing in the America’s Favorite Trail Horse event has been an incredible experience. Thanks for the memories ACTHA”. Each finalist had the opportunity to learn and be coached from some of America’s Top Equestrian Clinicians at Franklin Family Ranch in Blanco, TX and this made it a once in a lifetime opportunity.
ADM Alliance Nutrition, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Archer Daniels Midland Company (NYSE: ADM), has announced it will sponsor the American Competitive Trail Horse Association (ACTHA), the first organization of its kind to champion trail horses by showcasing their value and distinction across breed and discipline boundaries. “ADM Alliance Nutrition is excited to sponsor the American Competitive Trail Horse Association, an organization that shares our enthusiasm for helping horses be their best,” said Dr. Judy Reynolds, ADM Alliance Nutrition equine nutritionist and equine product and technical manager. “ACTHA champions all horses, regardless of breed or discipline. Likewise, ADM Alliance Nutrition offers programs designed to meet the unique nutritional needs of horses of varied breeds.” Research has shown that forage is the basis for efficient digestion in horses, and that increased dietary fiber (insoluble carbohydrates) and fats – rather than high quantities of starches and sugars (soluble carbohydrates) – helps promote overall health in horses that are engaged in light to elite performance activities. “With a growing awareness of the dangers related to high-starch and high-sugar diets for horses, we have designed a feeding program that provides better nutrition for horses,” said Reynolds. “Our GLO for Life formulations are a [...]

eZall, the industry’s leader in natural grooming products, has recently partnered with the booming trail organization the American Competitive Trail Horse Association (ACTHA). At each of its sanctioned trail rides across the nation, the ACTHA presents a “Best Groomed Mount” award sponsored by eZall. The winner of this award receives a free 32 oz. bottle of eZall Total Bottle Wash Green along with a sample of the new Shine & Detangler. “eZall is excited to partner with an organization that allows trail enthusiasts across the country to get out and enjoy time with their horses. By giving eZall products to the best groomed mounts, we’re able to reward riders for their dedication to keeping their horses happy and healthy,” says John Collet of eZall. ACTHA’s Founders, Karen VanGetson and Carrie Scrima say they founded the organization because they wanted a venue where they could enjoy their horses and the wonderful scenery around them. “Of course we wanted some challenge and a chance to learn as well as show off our horse’s talents. But most of all we wanted beauty, camaraderie and fun!” says VanGetson and Scrima. In addition to giving people an opportunity for education and entertainment, the ACTHA gives [...]

Rides now are happening at the rate of 1,000+ per year. “We knew we had a tiger by the tail when we saw the repeat rate of our riders and affiliates. Both ride hosts and riders repeat their ACTHA experience at over a 90% rate.
ALL Proceeds from Day-long series of trail rides will benefit Horse Rescues and Equine Charity The American Competitive Trail Horse Association, ACTHA, announced today it has reached agreement with The Humane Society of the United States for marketing and fund dispersement assistance for their “RIDE FOR THE RESCUES” ON JUNE 13TH, 2010. IN DOING SO A NEW WORLD RECORD WILL BE SET FOR THE LARGEST COMPETITIVE RIDE EVER HELD.. 3, 000+ RIDERS ARE EXPECTED TO PARTICIPATE. The goal of all ACTHA rides is to provide a safe, casual environment for people to enjoy their horses while raising awareness of and funds for homeless and at-risk equines. “The plan is quite simple-hopefully one or more ACTHA sanctioned ride in every state, with all proceeds going to horses in need” states Karen VanGetson, an ACTHA co-founder and head of operations. In the process, ACTHA hopes to enter the Guinness World RecordsT for the most people competing in a one-day trail ride. “ACTHA has been working to turn this ride from an idea into reality for almost a year. Finally, with The HSUS’ built-in network of supporters and diverse array of programs to help homeless horses, we became confident that this was possible. [...]

HorseLoverZ.com, the largest online tack store with more skews than anyother on line tack store, announced today their major sponsorship of The American Competitive Horse Association, ACTHA. “ACTHA has been looking for a relationship with a major catalogue company to complete the near infinite choices for their members who win and are gifted ACTHA Bucks! But to have HorseLoverZ.com in our stable of sponsors was a higher goal than we thought attainable” states ACTHA General Manager, Tom Scrima. But that’s the way things have been going for ACTHA and their Cause.the unwanted horse. The growth of ACTHA in good and in horrible economic times has been simply astounding. “Industry is recognizing ACTHA’s command of the portal to the trail rider. In addition I think it’s hitting them that ACTHA’s commitment to exclusivity for our major sponsors is indeed a powerful thing. ACTHA only takes one sponsor from any category. Once a major sponsor is allowed into our barn they are exclusively represented within ACTHA. ACTHA agrees to not take in another sponsor in their category. This means HorseLoverZ.com is the exclusive catalogue sponsor for ACTHA for as long as they wish.” States Wenifred Schnars Head of Merchandising for ACTHA. With [...]

Carrie Scrima, Co-Founder of ACTHA says, “We always dreamed of being on Clinton’s show but never dreamed it would happen so soon. Then again, we never dreamed thousands and thousands of trail riders and their wonderful horses would answer the call for help as forcefully as they have! It’s an amazing thing to witness. When we saw that ACTHA donates up to 50% of their proceeds to equine charity we knew we found a place for eZall to spread it’s product to the right people. Of course it doesn’t hurt that ACTHA appeals and captures the biggest horse market out there.the trail rider!” Concludes John Collet. According to Bob and Renee Burlingame “we like what ACTHA stands for and found their sponsorship program interesting. It is refreshing to be able to donate and award “product”, especially one such as ours, and see the wonderful results”. “It’s only fitting that two companies experiencing exponential growth should come together and do what we can to help the unwanted horse” states Tom Scrima who heads up marketing and charitable giving for ACTHA. “We aproached Vetericyn much as we do all our major sponsors.they encompass products and services we use and get the advertised results from, consistently. In the case of Vetericyn we have seen nothing short of miraculous results on every horse we’ve seen it used on. The team said we gotta have them as sponsors!
