The network also announced that Houston’s PegasusTV / KUBE 57.4 is now available online with the first of the network’s 24/7 simulcast of a local channel. This is a significant evolution in the network’s planned multiplatform distribution strategy, as it provides 100% saturation of all households in the Houston television market. This effectively means that anyone in the Houston market wanting to watch the channel can do so — at no [...]

Pegasus Television Network Launching in Six Television Markets: Los Angeles, Houston, Dallas, Fresno, Bakersfield and Santa Barbara First out the Gate ____________________________________________________________________________ ______ When PegasusTV launches its first affiliated television channels in six U.S. cities and their surrounding areas later this month, more than 28,000,000 million people representing over 11,000,000 households in will be able to tune into their own local horse channels. The network brings a new and customized approach to providing horse-focused programming to thousands of television viewers in each local market. Since each local television channel also has its own online “mirrored” streaming version, thousands more are also expected to tune in each month via the Internet. More than 20 other television markets have been identified and are optioned for the continued expansion of the network. The combined reach – without counting Internet viewers in Canada and other countries – will be almost 100,000,000 people. Lesley O’Connor, regional sales manager for the network in Texas, said, “The fact that I can guarantee to all of my potential advertising clients in the Houston and Dallas markets that just about 100% of their targeted customers can access the local PegasusTV channel is great.” She continued, “The people I speak [...]

The Pegasus Television Network has finalized its 2Q launch schedule with the addition of Dallas, Los Angeles, Bakersfield, Santa Barbara, Monterey/Salinas/Santa Cruz and Sacramento to the previously announced Houston and Fresno television markets. These eight television markets will reach almost 33,000,000 people representing about 13,000,000 “horseholds,” or television homes, in initial targeted regions of the two top horse population states. Third quarter market launches are expected to double those numbers by the end of September. The company is syndicating the new 24/7 equestrian and country lifestyle network with rifle-shot accuracy into clearly identified high “horsehold” television markets, delivering customized local channels for each region. To insure total viewer saturation in each market, the network will mirror each local PegasusTV broadcast with an individual streaming channel on PegasusTV.com and select local websites in each area. By customizing local affiliated channels in each market, the network builds close relationships with its audience, its advertisers and the local horse communities. A key component of the network’s commitment in each market is the no-cost airtime to equestrian and farm animal clubs and organizations on the weekends. Featuring some of the lowest ad rates in the equestrian industry for any medium, the network provides national, [...]

Pat Jacobs will be returning to Dodge City, Kansas, over the Thanksgiving holiday to sign books, cd’s and to visit with old friends. Come meet the Kansas man that has lived and breathed the cowboy lifestyle on Saturday, November 27, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Hastings Books in Dodge City. A perfect stocking stuffer for this holiday season is Pat’s second novel, “The Chameleon Rancher.” This intriguing book is set in Kansas on the backdrop of the Great Depression and the ole’ Dust Bowl era in 1941. Since Jacobs lived it, including riding cutting horses in a race for the World Championship of the National Cutting Horse Association, he used actual characters, with made-up names, from his huge bank of memories for this book. He has woven colorful individuals into a backdrop of actual events with fictional, yet believable, cowboys and ranchers, plus a dash of love, sex, drama and human frailties. If you haven’t experienced the tales of Pat Jacobs, don’t forget to pick up a copy of his first novel, “Outcasts, Outlaws and Second-Chance Horses.” Now in its second edition, this book continues to receive praise and recognition including his latest honor, the 2010 Will Rogers [...]

Boot Media LLC today announced that plans have been finalized for the roll-out of its new horse-focused and country lifestyle television network, and had chosen Houston, Texas as the first local television market for its flagship channel. With more than 5.9 million residents in its seven-country metropolitan area, Houston is the country’s 10th largest television market, and contains one of the most diverse and concentrated populations of horses and horse people in the nation. Bypassing costly national satellite distribution, which still reaches only a minority of general households in the United States, the company is syndicating the new 24/7 equestrian and country lifestyle network with rifle-shot accuracy into clearly identified high “horsehold” television markets. The network defines horsehold markets as those having high ratios of horses to people within a 100 mile radius of city central. Horseholds encompass urban, suburban and rural areas. In Texas and California alone, the number of homes in just 10 top horsehold cities exceeds the total homes subscribing to the leading satellite provider. By creating local affiliated channels in each city it serves, the network will build close relationships with its audience, advertisers, and members of the local horse communities. A key component of the [...]
