Spring Gathering Charity Horse Show, April 5-10, 2011

The Spring Gathering Charity Horse Show begins Tuesday, April 5, 2011, and will run through Sunday, April 10, 2011. This unique hunter/jumper event draws the top competitors to Texas from around the country and benefits the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. Riders will have the opportunity to compete for $250,000 in prize money at the Great Southwest Equestrian Center in beautiful Katy, Texas.

ch. JDRF is the largest charitable funder of and advocate for Type 1 Diabetes research. Type 1 Diabetes is an autoimmune disease that strikes children and adults suddenly, and can be fatal. Until a cure is found, people with Type 1 Diabetes have to test their blood sugar and give themselves insulin injections multiple times each day or use a pump – each and every day of their lives. Since its founding in 1970 by parents of children with Type 1 Diabetes, JDRF has awarded more than $1.5 billion to diabetes research, including more than $107 million last year. More than 80 percent of JDRF’s expenditures directly support research and research-related education.

HOURS: Wednesday through Sunday, from 7:30 a.m. to around 5 p.m.

ADMISSION: Complimentary during every day of showing

PARKING: On-site – There are also 50 amp & 30 amp Camper Hookups located directly on the showgrounds.

DIRECTIONS:

From Houston, take I-10 West and exit Mason Road, Exit 745. Go left (south) for three miles and the Center is on the left.

From San Antonio, take I-10 East and exit Mason Road, Exit 745. Go right (South) for three miles and the Center in on the left.

From Dallas take I-45 South and exit Beltway 8 (Sam Houston Toll Road) south to I-10. Take I-10 West to Mason Road, Exit 745. Go left (south) on Mason for three miles and the Center is located on the left.

From the Rosenberg-Richmond area and points south, take the Grand Parkway (Hwy 99) north. Exit Cinco Ranch Boulevard to Mason Road and go a left (north). The Center is located approximately 100 yards on the right.
