Calling all Sponsors and Riders– Time to Party!

Executive Airshare Southern Hospitality Party, Thursday, March 31 ringside at the BBVA Compass ring in the Sponsor’s Club. Be there at 5:30 p.m.

Thanks to Executive Airshare and to Winning Couture, who will present a trunk fashion show during dinner. Let’s show them how the South celebrates equine culture and fashion at the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show!

$30,000 Land Rover Grand Prix, on Saturday Night!

Be there for the second leg of the Texas Triple Crown, in the BBVA Compass Arena. Congratulations to South Bound, winner of the first leg Week One.

The BBVA Compass Ringside Dinner sets the scene for the second great Grand Prix competition at Pin Oak. See who will join Martien Van Der Hoeven and his great horse South Bound (above), winners of the Carole and Jim Looke $30,000 Grand Prix Week One, as Grand Prix Champions at Pin Oak. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. in the Sponsor’s Club for Opening Ceremonies at 7:00 p.m. General Admission tickets available for $10 for seats on the south side of the arena. Parking is free.

Olde Oaks Farm and The Hunton Group invite all grooms!

The Official Grooms Party will be held at the in-gate of the BBVA Compass Ring at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Hunter Derby Hat – Lauren Humphrey

 

$15,000 USHJA Chronicle of the Horse International Hunter Derby presented by Valobra Jewelry and Antiques!

Friday April 1 festivities begin at 6:30 for Houston’s very own Hat Event– the USHJA Chronicle of the Horse International Hunter Derby.

First in the order of business– presentation of the Hermes leading Amateur Owner Hunter Rider award, along with other special hunter awards. Lots of champagne and delectable food plus gorgeous hunters is a formula for a very special evening! Ladies, wear hats! (Lauren Humphrey road-tests her Derby hat, above!)

It’s about time . . . Saturday is Kid’s Day!

The excitement begins with a Children’s Party at noon in the Haras Dos Cavaleiros ring adjacent to the BBVA Compass Arena.

Keri April and the Dogs on Cue demo will be a highlight of this event, followed by cotton candy, kids’ jumps and other goodies for all in “Emily’s Cafe” under the porte cochere.

Strut Your Mutt for Charity Saturday, April 2.

Enter the Young Pin Oak Club’s Strut Your Mutt event– dress up your dog or “Come As You Are.”

Show off a trick or just hang out at our first Strut Your Mutt contest. All dogs, big and small are welcome! Entry fee is $15 for non-Pin Oak Club members and $10 for Pin Oak Club members. Stop by the Pet’s Jam vendor booth anytime pre-contest to fill our your entry blank. All participants and dogs meet at the Ovation Ring at 6:30 p.m. for judging. First through Third places will be awarded after the dogs enter the Grand Prix Ring for the dog parade starting at 7:00 p.m. We will have a barking good time!

A special Thank You to McDonald’s for Week Two Breakfast!

McDonald’s will provide breakfast for everyone during Week Two, available served at the In-gate of the BBVA Compass Arena. Way to go, Ronald McDonald!

In addition to providing breakfast for all the Week Two exhibitors, McDonalds hosted lunch for hundreds of Katy area school kids who had their first taste of horse show life last week. Thanks to McDonalds for making all this possible.

Final event for 2011: the Collegiate Pin Oak Invitational!

Come out and cheer your favorite collegiate equestrian team or college alma mater in a head-to-head competition on Sunday, April 3.

It takes place Sunday, April 3 at the BBVA Compass Arena. Join us at 4:00 p.m. in the Sponsor’s Club ringside for this exciting equestrian showdown. Competing this year are: Delaware State University, South Dakota State University, University of Tennessee-Martin, Louisiana State University, Southern Methodist University, Rice University and Texas Christian University. Don’t miss it!
