Kentucky Fall Horse Show Wrap-Up: November 6-7, 2010

It was a chilly weekend in Lexington for the Kentucky Fall Horse Show being held at the New Alltech Indoor Arena. Saturday and Sunday each featured a full day of hunter/jumper action with the areas top equestrians in attendance.

The Baby Green Hunter division kicked-off this weekend’s exciting hunter/jumper action. Paige Sea and Waterford VDL, owned by Lin Schwartz, took home the championship honors after they earned two first place ribbons and a second place ribbon. Tara Gnau rode Pico, owned by Jill Knowles and Pat Welborn, to the Pre-Intermediate Adult/Child Hunter championship. In the Short Stirrup division,Isabella De Sousa and Painted Desert scored the top call in the Short Stirrup Hunter, Short Stirrup Hunter Over Fences, and Short Stirrup Equitation Over Fences classes to take home three blue ribbons.

Emily McGlone and Artistic Touch controlled the Hopeful Jumper division after winning each class. Amanda Robinson riding Bienvenue, owned by Susann Jones, was the winner of both Low/Child Adult Jumper classes with the talented mount. Robinson commented, “Bienvenue has been excellent this whole weekend!”

Allison Davidson showed Sweet William, owned by Elaine Schott, in the Low Schooling Jumpers division where she earned two first place ribbons and a second place ribbon. Natassia Hovey riding Shaamen, owned by Elaine Schott, won two classes during the Medium Schooling Jumpers this weekend. The last of the days was the Children’s/Adult Jumpers where Jenny Gordon piloted Top Gun to three blue ribbons and the championship honors.

On Thursday, November 11, 2010, the Kentucky Fall Classic will get underway at the New Alltech Indoor Arena. The event will feature the Adult, Children’s and Pony Hunter divisions as well as a $1,500 Children’s/Adult Jumper Classic to be held on Sunday.

The New Alltech Indoor Arena recently hosted events for the very successful 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games. It features state-of-the-art Otto Sport Footing that was installed specifically for the Kentucky Fall Horse Shows. These events offers the perfect opportunity to begin preparing for 2011 horse shows in a beautiful, climate-controlled venue.
