Nordic Lights Farm continued their streak of success this weekend at the Southwest Fall Classic. Junior riders Eirin and Lene Bruheim showed their talented mounts in the Jumper divisions held at the Southwest Equestrian Center in Katy, Texas. Each rider achieved excellent results throughout the weekend and retained their leads in Zone 7.

Lene attended the show with NLF Valhall and competed in the High Children’s Jumpers. The pair completed excellent rounds and scored the second place prize in the High Children’s Jumper class and then earned the fourth place ribbon in the $2,500 Child/Adult Amateur Classic.

“Nlf Valhall put 100% in for me this weekend,” noted Lene. “I couldn’t ask for a better horse! In the first class he was listening and really ready for the jump-off. My decision to take some longer routes kept us from the blue, but it set us up nicely for the Classic the next day. He was absolutely amazing and ready to go for the Classic but we made it through the timers fractions over the time allowed and that earned us the fourth place ribbon.”

Eirin traveled to the Southwest Fall Classic with Qarco V’T Merelsnest and NLF Trans Atlantic. Both mounts are returning to the ring after an extended break and performed beautifully. Eirin showed NLF Trans Atlantic to a sixth place finish in the $10,000 1.35m Jumper Classic and the sixth place prize in the $5,000 1.25m Jumper Classic. She also scored top awards with Qarco V’T Merelsnest, taking home the 10th place award in the $10,000 1.35m Jumper Classic and the fifth place honors in the $5,000 1.25m Jumper Classic.

“This weekend was great,” smiled Eirin. “I was pleased to see NLF Trans Atlantic doing so well after his change in shoeing. He was very comfortable and his style has improved as well. We were the fastest four-faulters in both classes, which is a great accomplishment.”

Eirin continued, “Qarco V’T Merelsnest was excellent again this weekend. He only had two time faults during the 1.25m class. We are still working to get him fit again but he will be back in fighting shape in time for the $50,000 Fleur de Lis Prix next month.”

Lene and Eirin have had excellent results while competing at the Southwest Equestrian Center. They are both currently preparing to travel to the East Coast during the Pennsylvania National Horse Show and the Washington International Horse Show.

Nordic Lights Farm is a 70-acre establishment located in Tomball, TX, that was founded in 2007 by the Bruheim family to help further the equestrian goals of 18-year-old Eirin Bruheim and 16-year-old Lene Bruheim. Both girls have worked their way up through the ranks and are currently competing at the top levels in the hunter and jumper divisions aboard their incredible string of horses.
